Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair
This is the least invasive procedure to repair a torn tendon in the shoulder. It is done through small button hole-sized incisions using the latest technology and materials to re-attach the tendons to the bone. Michigan SportsMedicine and Orthopedic Center works with Arthrex, an international company known for innovative solutions in minimally invasive orthopedics, of which Dr. John Morris is a key contributor to the surgical tools.
Typically, the procedure is done on an outpatient basis with the least amount of disruption. Healing is generally quicker minimizing the recovery and return to everyday activities and sports.
Conditions most likely to benefit include:
- Extensive damage from an accident or sports injury
- Persistent shoulder pain that has not improved with 6-12 months of physical therapy
- Weakness that precludes everyday activities
- Dull ache at night that interferes with sleep
